4th of July 2014

at Mullins Park

It was a dark and stormy night..... At least, that's how the annual 4th of July celebration at Mullins Park began. Normally, the park opens at 5 pm, the music starts at 6, and a terrific fireworks display ignites (pun intended) at 9. Not so this year. Heavy rains and the threat of lightning strikes prevented the normal park opening until 7:30, reducing the crowd to about half of previous years. Nevertheless, Council 8838 was out in force cooking up hamburgers, hot dogs, frencg fries, and funnel cakes for the hungry patrons. Many thanks to the Knights, Columbiettes, and family that participated in the event.
